21 year-old Brampton man arrested after forcible confinement investigation

A 21 year-old Brampton man has been arrested following a forcible confinement investigation. Toronto Police says on Thursday around 4:15 p.m., a 19 year-old woman attended what she was told was an information session at Emmanuel College, on the University of Toronto campus, on Queen’s Park Crescent. The accused, known to the woman as a student on campus, asked the victim to help him with repairs in a washroom. After entering the washroom, the woman was grabbed and forced to the ground. She managed to fight back and was able to escape and told campus police. Muhammad Umair Jafar is charged. Investigators believe there may be more victims.
