Almost 100 schools in the Durham District School Board achieve ‘Eco-School’ certification

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Durham, Education

Some exciting news for the Durham District School Board, as 95 of their schools have qualified for the Eco-Schools certification for the 2011-2012 year.  Waste and Energy Officer Judy Gould says there is a grading system the schools work at, and are given points for each ecologically aware step they take.  Gould says the schools worked on waste reduction projects, learned how to save energy, and worked on school ground greening.
