Seminar teaches Clarington residents how to avoid becoming targets for theft

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Durham

As many residents get set to leave for the long weekend, Durham Police are reminding homeowners to protect themselves from becoming targets for thieves.  Constable Art Baine says a free information session is being held Thursday in Newcastle, where residents can learn how to better secure their properties. Baine says things like having your mail held, and installing timed lights are easy ways to deter thieves. The meeting will run from 7:00 until 9:00 at the Newcastle and District Community Recreation Centre on Rudell Road.
