Investigations underway into roof collapse at Elliot Lake shopping mall

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories

Premier Dalton McGuinty is offering financial help to Elliot Lake, after the fatal roof collapse at a shopping mall.  The community may need to relocate public services that were housed at the mall.  Two people died when the roof caved in Saturday afternoon.  McGuinty also says the Coroner’s Office is investigating the incident with help from the OPP.  The Ministry of Labour, which visited the mall six times in the last three years, will be doing its own probe, to try and determine why the roof caved in.
