Three people sent to hospital after crash in Newcastle

A 44 year-old Clarington man was airlifted to hospital following a serious crash in Newcastle. Durham Police say late Friday afternoon, a motorcycle and car collided on Toronto Street. The victim, who was riding the motorcycle, was transported to a Toronto-area hospital with serious injuries. The 42 year-old driver of the car, as well as a 42 year-old passenger were also taken to hospital. The roadway was shut down for several hours while evidence was collected. Police determined that alcohol was not a factor.
