Summer election in Ontario, looking more unlikely

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Durham, GTA, Politics, Toronto

It appears the battle over the Ontario budget will be settled in the legislature on Wednesday, and it’s starting to look like the document will pass, averting a possible summer election.  The opposition parties did remove sections of the budget at a finance committee this week, But the Liberal government has backed off its threats to call an election over the matter.  The NDP says it remains committed to having the budget pass but it’s not clear if they will vote for the budget or abstain and let the Liberals out-vote the Tories.
