Health officials in Durham investigating possible use of non-sterile equipment at body piercing establishment in Pickering

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Durham, GTA, Healthcare

The Durham Health Department is looking to speak with anyone who got a body piercing, at Untouchable Ink Tatoo Studio in Pickering, between September 27th of last year and June 1st of this year.  Officials say they’re investigating the possibility that non-sterile equipment was being used.  The advisory is for body piercings only, and does not include those who got tatoos.  The business is located at 6-893 Bayly Street.  Health experts say the use of non-sterile equipment in body piercings, can lead to the transmission of diseases like hepatitis-B, hepatitis-C and HIV.  Anyone with concerns can call the Durham Health Connection Line at 905-668-6241 or 1-800-841-2729, Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.  More information can also be found by clicking here.
