Ceremony to bless DRPS motorcycles ahead of the summer enforcement season

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Durham

A special ceremony is being held this month to bless Durham Police motorcycles. The Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation Elders are holding an ancient smudging ceremony to ensure the motorcycles, and their riders, have safe travels during the busy summer enforcement season. The Durham Police Traffic Services Branch has three Harley-Davidson motorcycles that are used heavily for enforcement. The ceremony will be held Monday, June 11th, at 10:00 am at the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation Band Office, 22521 Island Road, Port Perry.
