Opposition parties suggest the Liberals ignored warning signs at Ornge

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Healthcare, Politics

New documents suggest the governing Liberals ignored warnings from their own bureaucrats about loosening government control over Ornge.  Ontario’s auditor general has slammed the government for failing to oversee the publicly funded air ambulance service, which is now under a criminal probe.  The Liberals have defended themselves, saying they were handcuffed by a weak performance agreement they signed with Ornge.  However, documents obtained by the Conservatives and NDP show the government was warned in 2004 that there were problems with the agreement.
