World No Tobacco Day in Durham Region

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Durham, Healthcare

Durham Region is recognizing World No Tobacco Day this Thursday, with a full week of events and by focusing on smoke-free beaches and parks.  Officials say a smoke free outdoors protects us from the dangers of second hand smoke, and the environment from pollution.  Public Health Nurse Cynthia Rogers says 3,000 people in Ontario die from second hand smoke every year. The health department will be hosting information displays throughout Durham Region all week long.  For more information click here.
