A fatal bicycle collision in Whitby leads to charges

A Whitby woman has been charged with careless driving in connection with the fatal collision involving a cyclist in Whitby last month.  58 year old Maurice Hale was traveling eastbound on Victoria Street, when he was struck by a car also traveling eastbound.  Hale was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries.  He was wearing a reflective vest, helmet gloves and had flashing lights mounted on both the front and rear of the bicycle.   53 year old Elizabeth Reid is charged.
