New report claims more Canadians surviving battles with cancer

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Durham, GTA, Healthcare, Toronto

New figures released claim the cancer death rate is declining in Canada. The Canadian Cancer Society report says nearly 100,000 lives have been saved over the past 20 years due in part to improved treatments for a variety of cancers including prostate, breast and colorectal. The main driver is believed to be that fewer men are dying of lung cancer, which remains the number-one cancer killer in the country.
