Workers celebrated on May Day

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, GTA, Politics, Toronto

There will be marches and protests across Canada on May 1st. It’s May Day, also known as International Workers Day and workers are pushing for changes and raising awareness. Included in the day’s events is an anti-austerity protest at Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s office in Ottawa. In Toronto meanwhile, there will be a march at City hall and members of “Occupy Toronto” say they’ll temporarily re-occupy a city park. Activists are urging people to call in sick Tuesday, in order to participate in the event.
