Classes cancelled at Danforth Tech after three alarm fire

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Toronto

About 1,200 high school students in Toronto escaped unhurt, after a three alarm fire at Danforth Collegiate and Technical Institute.  Authorities say the blaze broke out about 10:00 Wednesday morning at the school in the Danforth and Greenwood area.  One firefighter suffered smoke inhalation, however students and staff were able to get out of the building.  There’s no word yet on a possible cause. Classes have been cancelled for the rest of the week, with officials asking parents to check the Toronto District School Board website for more information.
