Town of Whitby sees a down trend for building permit sales in March

There was a significant slide in the number of building permits issued in Whitby last month. According to the town, they issued 49 residential building permits, down from 91 in March of 2011, and only 7 commercial permits, down from 16. The overall construction value for projects in March was over $16.5 million, down 20 percent from the same month a year ago. However, the overall construction value for 2012 is up 7 percent, at more than $62.6 millon.
