Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Durham, GTA, Healthcare

Lakeridge Health is performing at or better than the provincial average in six of seven clinical performance indicators. That is according to a report by the Canadian Institute for Health Information.  President and CEO Kevin Empey says the data shows the hospital’s performing 15 per cent better than the provincial average when dealing with mortality from a stroke and has excelled in readmission rates for knee and hip replacement surgery as well. Other findings in the report showed Lakeridge Health performed 80 per cent better than the provincial average for re-admission after hip replacement surgery, and 30 per cent better after knee replacement surgery. Lakeridge Health recently launched it’s 5-year strategic plan with a specific focus on becoming the safest hospital in Ontario.
