CAMH launches two new tools to help people with problem gambling

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Durham, GTA, Healthcare, Toronto

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health has launched a mobile app and a self-help website, aimed at helping people with gambling problems.  Officials say the issue has grown in recent years and experts estimate there are 333,000 adults and 29,000 students in Ontario, who’re affected by problem gambling.  CAMH spokesperson Robert Murray says this has become a major public health issue.  He says the problem may only get worse with on-line gambling coming in 2013 and the proposed expansion of facilities across the province.  For information and ways to help, click here.
