Whitby Hospital Task Force set to take the next step in hospital renovation plan

Durham region is proposing to introduce a new focus for the future of health care. The Whitby Hospital Task Force is looking to build a new facility and spoke in front of regional council recently to discuss the need for a new emergency department and to build a new rehab and continuing care centre. Chair Christopher White says the need for more emergency centres is coming close to a breaking point. Whitby council approved the idea for the hospital at a meeting last December. The next step is to have the province approve the plan.
