Posted by news | Filed under Durham, Education, Healthcare

With infection rates on the rise in Durham region, the 2012 HIV/Aids conference in Oshawa this week focused on education and prevention measures for all age groups and ethnicities.  Manager of Education Services for the Aids Committee of Durham region, Mark Hammann, says one slice of population which the committee needs to focus more on is youth, with numbers showing a high rate of increase for both men and women in their teens. Hammann adds that the infection rate remains steadily on the rise for both same sex relationship men, as well as straight women across the region.
