Liberals announce that the 2012 Provincial budget will be released on March 27th

The Ontario budget will come down on March 27th and the Liberal’s fiscal plan is expected to contain a number of deep spending cuts. The province is facing a $16-billion deficit and experts say the Liberals will try to protect gains in health care and education, while slashing enough to eliminate the deficit in five years. The minority government will need opposition support to pass the budget, and the Liberals are expected to court the NDP, who are demanding a delay to a planned cut in corporate taxes.
