Thornhill plumbing company fined after worker death

A plumbing firm in Thornhill has been fined $100,000, after one of its workers was killed on the job. ‘New Water Plumbing’ was slapped with the penalty after an investigation by the Ministry of Labour, who concluded the company violated the Occupational Health and Safety Act. The worker was electrocuted while moving a large exhaust fan in the mechanical room of a Toronto condo in late 2009.
