Durham Humane Society offers reward, in dog beating case

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Durham

A rottweiler puppy was blinded because of a beating, and the Durham Humane Society is looking for the man who attacked him.  Investigator Debby Houghton says on January 30th, two witnesses heard the puppy’s screams behind the McLean Community Centre in Ajax, and saw the man hitting the dog with a closed fist.  Houghton says the man fled the scene before authorities arrived.  The puppy named ‘Geoffrey’ was left with serious injuries. A $1,000.00 reward is being offered for information that leads to a conviction in the case. Anyone with information is urged to contact Debby Houghton at 905-665-7430, ext. 225. Sadly, the Humane Society euthanized the animal after finding it suffered from an extremely fast moving form of cancer.
