Federal budget to be delivered March 29th

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Durham, GTA, Politics, Toronto

Finance Minister and Whitby-Oshawa MP Jim Flaherty has announced that the federal budget will be delivered on March 29th. On that day, we’ll find out about the Harper government’s plans to reform Old Age Security, and Flaherty says there will be moderate spending reductions as Ottawa tries to balance its books over the next few years.  But Wednesday, he told reporters this will be a jobs and growth budget.  The Public Service Alliance of Canada is planning a day of action Thursday to protest what it fears will be deep cuts to government services and jobs.
