Deliberations begin Friday for honour killing case in Kingston

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Crime

The jury is now deliberating the complex case against three people accused of killing four female family members over honour.  The panel in Kingston, has been hearing evidence in the Shafia family murder trial since October 20th.  Deliberations started Friday, after instructions from the judge.  Mohammad Shafia, his wife Tooba Yahya and their son Hamed have pleaded not guilty to four counts each of first-degree murder.  The bodies of three Shafia daughters and Shafia’s first wife in a polygamous marriage were found in 2009 in a car at the bottom of a canal.
