CAW and CEP talk merger

The CAW and CEP are in discussions to form one massive union. The Canadian Auto Workers and Communications, Energy and Paperworkers say they’ve been considering the merger for weeks, and it could happen as early as next year. The unions say they’ve been spurred on by events like the lockout of workers at a London manufacturing plant. They say management of the Caterpillar-owned plant is demanding employees cut their pay in half.
