Taxpayers federation speaks out on fairness of MP pension plans

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation is questioning the fairness of MP pension plans. While most Canadian workers might be happy to get a dollar-for-dollar match for their contributions, the federation says MPs get more than $23 to every dollar contributed. Spokesman Gregory Thomas says they suggest adopting a pooled registered pension plan. Thomas says last year alone, taxpayers contributed $102 million to MP pensions, while the MPs stored away just over $4.5 million of their own money.
