Building permit sales up in Whitby in 2011

The Town of Whitby is celebrating a very positive 2011, with regards to building activity. More than 1200 building permits were sold last year, up from over 1100 in 2010, with the construction value of those permits jumping 11.8 percent to almost $282 million. December also saw good growth with permit sales rising from 66 in 2010 to 86 last month and construction value more than tripling to more than $35 million.
