The gap between the rich and middle class has never been greater. A new report done by the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, found the 100 highest paid executives of companies on the Toronto Stock Exchange was $8.38 million in 2010. That figure is 189 times the average Canadian wage of $44,366. Economist Hugh MacKenzie, who was the reports author, says the gap between Canada’s CEO elite 100 and the rest of Canadians is growing at a fast and steady pace, with no signs of letting up.
