Locomotive workers in London, locked out

Electro-Motive, a diesel locomotive plant in London, has started the new year by locking out more than 420 workers. Contract talks collapsed last week after the company tabled a final offer that would cut wages in half, eliminate pensions, and gut other benefits. Electro-Motive is owned by Caterpillar. The heavy equipment giant has a long history of playing hardball with unions.
