NO WEST NILE REPORTED IN DURHAM REGION THIS SEASON

Posted by news | Filed under All News Stories, Durham, Healthcare

Durham Region hasn’t seen a single case of West Nile Virus this season. The Health Department has been testing since May, and Senior Public Health Inspector Toni Moran says even though there are no positive mosquito pools or human cases of the virus, it’s no excuse to stop being vigilant. Moran says you should always try to wear light, long sleeve shirts, long pants, socks and shoes when outside with mosquitoes, and she suggests spraying uncovered skin with insect repellent.
