Would you be okay if your car broke down and you were stranded for several hours?
With the winter driving season upon us, CAA says to make sure you have an emergency kit in your vehicle.
They say you should have things such as jumper cables, bottled water, a first-aid kit, a fire extinguisher, reflective warning triangles, a tire gauge and snacks.
Public Relations Manager Kaitlynn Furse says it’s also important to have a phone charger in your emergency kit.
“You can’t call for help if don’t have battery on your phone” said Furse.
Furse also recommends putting an emergency escape tool in your kit.
The tool shaped like a small hammer and it includes a sharp blade that can be used to cut a seat belt in case of a serious accident.
You can then use the hammer to smash a window and free yourself from the vehicle.
