Prince Harry arrives in Toronto for Invictus Games

Prince Harry is in Toronto Friday to set the stage for the week-long Invictus Games.

The Opening Ceremony takes over the Air Canada Centre Saturday night with Alessia Cara, Sarah MacLaughlin and The Tenors performing.

Retired Corporal and member of the Canadian wheelchair rugby team Christopher Klodt says the athletes are energized by the games.

“It’s not the high level of the Olympics or the Paralympics,” said Klodt. “It’s a way for injured soldiers to step off into that direction and help with our recovery, whether it be a physical or mental injury.”

Harry founded the Invictus Games in 2014 as a way to inspire and motivate wounded soldiers on their paths to recovery.

Toronto is host to 550 competitors from 17 countries. It’s the first time the games have been in Canada.
